drink your antioxidants

I drink green tea like it's water. Well, I drink a little more water, but you can bet on me having at least 4 glasses of this each day. For 3 quarts of tea, I use 3 bags of Green Tea and 1 bag of Get Happy (this adds a bit of peach flavor). After steeping tea bags in a couple cups of boiled water, I add 1 T of agave syrup to sweeten the tea just a tad. I stir it around, then fill the pitcher up to 3 quarts with cold water and remove the tea bags. My parents use black tea and add an orange rind (instead of the Get Happy tea bag) which makes the best black tea I've ever had, and I know you can do the same with this green tea and it would taste just as great. Drink up!

  1. I'm a very big fan of tea. There is a gourmet tea shop you should check out called Teavana...if you havent already heard about it. They sell wonderful teas- white, green, roobios, black, mate....everything you can think off

  2. Angela-

Do you ever drink soda? I've gathered now that you are probably the best person to ask if I've got a health question regarding physical health or dieting health. What is your take on soda? I try to only have 1 soda a week! But sometimes I slip to 3.

On the green tea subject..what brand is best? I know some of it is full of caffeine. Can I get the benefits without the caffeine?

  3. I'm not a fan of soda. Every now and then I'll drink the diet green tea ginger ale, but I only drink like one can per 4 months. The more soda you drink, the more water you should drink. My biggest thing about soda is that it's made of unnatural chemicals that are harmful to your body. When it comes to green tea, any brand works, just make sure it's only green tea and not barley or any other mixture. It has less than 1/2 the caffeine of store-bought coffee grinds. What do you have against caffeine? Caffeine stimulates metabolism as well as might (according to studies) be able to ward off Alzheimers for a few more years. If you're really against caffeine, they have decaf green tea in stores, but I'm not sure how healthy the decaffeination process is for your body. By the way, my favorite is Yogi Green Tea Kombucha or Yogi Green Tea Super Antioxidant.
